Does anyone else feel stuck? You have an idea on what you want to do but not sure how to get there, so you just stay stuck in the same place? Or concerned about how it will turn out and you want it to be just right so you don't even start?
It's as if the logical and emotional side are working against you. The not knowing how to do it, relies on the logic and wanting it to be just right, the perfectionism side relies on the emotional. Sometimes you just need to start and take that leap of faith. Sometimes it's inner work - letting go of the perfectionism. Other times it might need some tools to help you plan things out.
For example, writing SMART goals and the steps needed to get there or maybe you aren't sure where you are starting from to make an accurate SMART goal and need to track it ahead of time.

Say you want to exercise more and you do a little bit on occasion but are not sure how often you actually do it. Tracking it would be helpful to then make an accurate goal. If you are walking like once a week and want to do more then you can make a more accurate goal and up it to trying to walk 3 times a week whereas if you weren't even walking once a week and it was more every other week maybe the goal is to walk once each week.
On the flip side when you have a goal such as wanting to start a business but are not sure how to get there - that's when writing out the steps or sections can be helpful to get to the end goal. This would help you avoid staying stuck and focusing on all the how to's as you know have actionable steps written out to help progress towards your goal.

Also relying on some of the emotional side - having some faith in the universe that everything will work out, how it's suppose to be in the end. (I know, that can be super scary!) However, reflecting back on things in my
life, I wouldn't be where I am now if things didn't happen the way they did - the positive and negative. I love where I am now and wouldn't go back and change a thing. So maybe letting go of the logic side a bit with all the how to's and taking that leap - acknowledging that everything will work out in the end.
Work at trying to find that happy medium between the logic and the emotional side when working towards the more challenging goals you have in your life.
You can find a SMART goal, handout and worksheet in the resource section to help you with creating accurate achievable goals. I will also include a tracking sheet to help with creating some of the goals as well as a step by step sheet to help you figure out what to do next to help you work towards your goals.
When creating SMART goals, I tend to highlight the importance of making it attainable. When you make the goal attainable you are more likely to succeed at reaching the goal which then gives motivation to keep going. So for example, if you want to create a goal around walking and you want to walk 7 days a week- this may not be as attainable, as you could get sick or there could be bad weather. So it might be better to make the goal of walking 5 days a week. Then if you end up walking the 5 days or 7 days, you've reached or surpassed your goal. This gives motivation to keep going whereas if you set if for 7 days and only do 6 days then you didn't reach your goal, which makes it harder to keep going forward.

Also, having your why figured out is super important and you can write it out under "Relevant" in the SMART goals. Having your "why" figured out helps with goal setting, habits, routines and motivation to keep going. I was listening to the Clutterbug Podcast (highly recommended), and she talked about the push/pull when figuring out your why. Essentially the push is "I have to" or "I need to" whereas the pull is "I want to". So the pull is something that gives you motivation and makes you want to do something. In that podcast episode she gave a really great example to explain this. The push was I have to or I need to lose weight whereas the pull was I want to be in control of my cravings. So the one feels way more motivating then the other. Keep this push/pull idea in mind when figuring out your why, or to hear it explained more thoroughly head over to the Clutterbug Podcast to give episode #127 "How to Easily Create New & Healthy Habits that Last" a listen.

Just a reminder, regardless of your goal setting process, progress is progress and any progress is better than none. Progress over perfection!
Now all you need to do is to try and balance out the emotional and logical side - and work at taking the leap forward and trusting everything will work out.
You got this!
